DFI Cinema Under the Stars for Discover America Festival 2018

Cinema Under the Stars

In partnership with the US Embassy in Qatar, the Doha Film Institute has presented another ‘Cinema Under the Stars’ series, as part of Discover America Festival 2018 from November 1, 2018 until Sunday, at 7pm daily, at the Museum of Islamic Art Park with a line-up of four animation films in the outdoors, and open to all for free. The films that have already been screened are Planes, Pixar Shorts and Toy Story. The final screening on Sunday, is of Chicken Little (2005) directed by Mark Dindal. Young Chicken Little throws his small town into panic by claiming the sky is falling.

William Grant, Charge d’Affaires at US Embassy, said: “The US Embassy is proud to partner with DFI for the second year to bring American films to Qatar. These films are not only entertaining for the whole family, but they educate us, help us learn more about each other, breakdown stereotypes, and transcend our borders. The most accessible form of art is the cinema and these films, in particular, showcase American innovation and technology in the arts.”
