Limited Passport Services Due to COVID-19
U.S. Department of State passport processing centers in the United States are currently unable to process new, full-validity passport applications due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- For urgent cases–such as U.S. citizens with expired U.S. passports who wish to return to the United States, or families with newborn U.S. citizens without passports–U.S. citizens should contact ACSDoha@state.gov to apply for an emergency passport. If all requirements are met, emergency passports can be issued within 48 hours. Emergency passports function as regular passports, except they have fewer pages and are only valid for one year
- For non-urgent cases, we will continue to schedule normal passport appointments. Applications will be processed when the passport processing centers in the United States reopen. Please email ACSDoha@state.gov for an appointment.
We encourage you to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive the latest updates from the U.S. Embassy in Qatar.
