Please note: The Department of State assumes no responsibility or liability for the professional ability or reputation of, or the quality of services provided by, the entities or individuals whose names appear on the following lists. Inclusion on this list is in no way an endorsement by the Department or the U.S. government. Names are listed alphabetically, and the order in which they appear has no other significance. The information on the list is provided directly by the local service providers; the Department is not in a position to vouch for such information.

Notarial services are available to U.S. citizens or for individuals with documents that will be used in the United States only.

We cannot authenticate or certify any U.S. documents for use in Qatar, such as academic credentials, birth or death certificates, marriage certificates, incorporation papers, deeds, affidavits, etc.

Examples of Notarial Services Available

  1. Notarizing signatures on documents. For example:
    • Signatures on mortgage papers,
    • Signatures on a power of attorney form, and
    • Signatures on certain U.S. government forms.
  2. Generating letters for various purposes. For example:
    • To obtain fingerprints for police clearances,
    • No objection letters for transferring residence permits,
    • Also-Known-As letters to establish identity, and
    • Letters explaining the classification contained on U.S. driver’s licenses.
  3. Taking of oaths for affidavits and other purposes. For example:

To Schedule a Notarial Service:

  1. Schedule an appointment. If you cannot keep it, please use the same link to cancel. For emergencies, please send an email to ACSDoha@state.gov to request an earlier appointment.
  2. Bring your passport and another form of government issued photo ID. The name on the document’s signature line must match the name on the ID.
  3. If your document requires a witness signature, please bring an (unrelated) friend or colleague with you.
  4. Pay the service fee at your appointment. The fee is USD 50 for each notary service, per page. We accept major credit cards or exact cash (U.S. dollars or Qatari riyals). Personal checks are not accepted.

Important Note: Please be aware that your appointment refers to the time you should arrive in the Consular Section, including anticipating drive time and security screening. Please plan accordingly and take a number once you arrive.
