The U.S. Embassy in Qatar is delighted to announce that Qatari national Wadha Nasser Al Jabor has received a prestigious financial award to bring her peer-to-peer education project, “STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) for All,” to life in Qatar. She applied for and won the 2023 IVLP Impact Award, which was open worldwide to alumni of the U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a prestigious Department of State exchange program in which Wadha participated in fall 2022.
Wadha, a statistician and leadership coach, will use STEAM for All to allow Qatar’s children and youth to explore hands-on learning in robotics, programming, circuity, 3D modeling, and other areas of STEAM.
While developing her STEAM for All idea, Wadha traveled to San Diego, California; Washington, D.C.; and Boston, Massachusetts; and Cleveland, Ohio in the United States on an IVLP trip themed “Youth Volunteerism and Civic Engagement.”
“I had the idea for more than a year, [but] my IVLP experience empowered [me] to initiate the project and reach out for resources locally and internationally. Exposing my initial idea and discussing it with experts during the IVLP, I was moved to another level where I realized the need and impact of [STEAM for All],” she said.
